A popular butchers in Malahide has made a kind gesture to local canines in the area.

Kerrigan's Craft Butchers were often asked if they had any spare bones for customers' dogs.

This led them to leave spare bones outside of their shop ready for lucky pups to collect.

The box of bones and bowl of water can be found beside the dog parking station outside of the butcher's .

A local page posted about the thoughtful gesture.

They said: "Doggy Bones: Kerrigan's Craft Butchers often get asked for bones for their K9 friends, so they thought it would be nice to leave spare bones for them ready to collect, beside the dog parking station outside the shop."

Malahide dog owners praised the butchers on Facebook.

One local said: "Love this!! It's hard to find a proper butcher who has bones for the dog!"

Another person commented: "What a lovely thing to do."
