Malahide and Cabra among the top 20 best places to live in Ireland

Malahide and Cabra have made the Top 20 Best Places to Live in Ireland list.

The two Dublin towns made it to the final twenty of the Irish Times ‘Best Place to Live in Ireland’ competition, which is sponsored by Randox Health.

The competition started back in June when members of the public were able to nominate their favourite place to live in the country.

A total of 470 locations were nominated by over 2,400 people.

Malahide was the most heavily nominated location in the country with 320 entries.

Other towns that made the top 20 include Killarney, Carrick-on-Shannon, Gorey, Clonakilty, Abbeyleix and Tullamore.

The top 5 finalists will be named in mid September, with the winner due to be announced on September 25th.

Judges considered each nominated location based on a variety of factors, including transport links, cost of living, community spirit and the "unique X factor."
