We're looking for a real sheen, so I've started with a tiny dab of Vaseline smoothed over the eyelids - it helps the shadow last and gives it a much stronger colour. I've used L'Oreal's Magnetic steel blue shadow and gently dabbed it on to the lid with an eyeshadow brush. Start at the outer corner of the eye and work inwards, making sure the line is finer as you reach the middle - use your finger to blend in. Brush on to the apple of your cheeks with a large blusher brush and work out towards the hairline. Photograph: Hong Gyoung Tae
Lips should look natural - nothing too bold to detract from the eyes. Trace the lip line with a subtle pink - Estee Lauder's Pink Writer is a nice shade . Fill in, then finish with a light layer of gloss, or another dab of Vaseline.
