We're aiming for lasting colour here, so you can sink as many martinis as you like without your lippy coming off. Start with a primer - I've used Mac's Prep + Prime Lip - and with a small brush pat all over and just above the lip areaPhotograph: Hong Gyoung Tae/Hong Gyoung TaeNow for an elegant line - I've used L'Oréal's Infallible Never Fail Lip Liner in pink. Start next to the arch of your lip: for a plumper effect, pencil over the cupid's bow; or, for a thinner, more arched look as pictured, outline it. Fill in the lip, too, so you'll have colour even after the lipstick wears offPhotograph: Hong Gyoung Tae/Hong Gyoung TaeGo for a rich, moisturising colour - I use L'Oréal's Colour Riche in Wild Plum. Apply the lipstick direct, or, if you want the colour to last longer, use a lip brush to build up layers. Blot with tissue and go for one more coatPhotograph: Hong Gyoung Tae/Hong Gyoung Tae
With the brush, apply a clear gloss to the lower and upper lips, paying most attention to the middle part of the lip, as that's where you want shine to be at a maximum. For an extra-defined look, retrace the lip line with your liner. Voilà - party lipsPhotograph: Hong Gyoung Tae/Hong Gyoung Tae
