Makeshift memorial in Edinburgh for student killed in Hong Kong protests

A memorial as gone up in Edinburgh following the death of a student protestor in Hong Kong.

The mural to 22-year-old Chow Tsz-Lok has been spotted in the Potterow underpass near the Edinburgh University campus.

Tzk-Lok, also known as Alex Chow, died last Friday after falling from a building during violent clashes between Hong Kong police and demonstrators.

The makeshift memorial depicts a yellow hardhat and bloody eye-patch which have become symbols of Hong Kong's anti-government protests

Hong Kong pro-democracy supporters have gathered at the makeshift memorial and have left flowers and candles at the scene.

Violent protests have raged in the semi- autonomous Chinese territory since June.

Protests first erupted over a controversial extradition law but have since spiralled amid rising anti-China feeling in the city.
