"Makes the game look easy" - Sky Sports pundits react to Billy Gilmour's full Premier League bow

Sky Sports pundits Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp have been raving about Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour following his performance in the victory over Everton.

The 18-year-old was handed his first Premier League start for the visit of the Toffees and pulled the strings in midfield with an eye-catching performance in a 4-0 win.

That saw the teenager awarded Man of the Match for the second game in a row, following his starring performance in the FA Cup victory against Liverpool in midweek.

Keane had already waxed lyrical about the Scotland talent prior to the match and, after watching him shine against Carlo Ancelotti's side, heaped more praise upon him.

“He backed it up. We said it’ll be a test for him because sometimes you get the plaudits in the first game but now he’s got to do it week in, week out," he told Sky Sports.

“He makes the game look easy, he looks forward, he’s got his head swivelling, looking over the shoulder, he was very positive with his passing but, having said that, Everton in midfield were abysmal.

“I bet he’s wondering what the fuss is around him, he makes it look very easy.”

Former Liverpool captain Redknapp echoed Keane's views, identifying the time and space that Gilmour regularly found during the match.

“He’s very difficult to mark because he has so much space and good players always look like they have more time on the ball than anybody else.

“His pass completion is very good, he’s got great energy, he can get around the pitch, he picked the right pass and he always looks forward.

“So many players want to play it safe but he looks forward. He’s a bit old school, I was so impressed with him. He’s probably thinking this Premier League is easy!”
