'Makes no sense' - Arsenal fans fume over Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Cedric transfer decision

The transfer window is in full swing as Premier League clubs continue to shape their squads ahead of the new season.

Arsenal are on the verge of their second signing of the summer, with Gabriel Magalhaes closing in on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The defender will join Willian who joined on a free transfer from Chelsea after the expiry of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

But, it’s not only incomings that will be happening at Arsenal this summer, but Mikel Arteta may also look to make some sales in order to raise more transfer funds.

One of the potential sales is academy graduate Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

According to Sky Sports , Wolves are closing in on the utility player and are in advanced talks with Arsenal over a £20 million deal.

The news comes after Arsenal moved to make Cedric Soares’ loan move from Southampton permanent at the end of the season, with the Portugal international signing a four-year contract after the expiry of his contract at St Marys.

Following the news of Maitland-Niles’ potential exit, Arsenal fans took to social media to give their thoughts, with many not happy with the decision that has been made.

Maitland-Niles made a total of 32 first-team appearances during the 2019/20 season, with most of them coming at Right-back.

The 22-year-old has also played in central and left-midfield during the season, showing that he is able to play in a number of positions.

Cedric played five times during his loan spell at the end of the campaign, scoring one goal in his debut against Norwich City.
