Makers of Simran are upset with Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut. Know why

Looks like Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has ruffled too many feathers.

After singer Sona Mohapatra and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan, it’s now the turn of the makers of Simran to express their unhappiness over Kangana’s outbursts against Hrithik Roshan and others in Bollywood.

According to a report in the DNA, the makers feel the focus has shifted from their film Simran to the actor and they are not happy about it.

“Simran is up for release, they feel Kangana is taking the limelight away from the film and that people are only interested in knowing about her personal life. They have now asked Kangana to not talk about her personal life anymore and keep her interviews centred to the film,” a source was quoted by DNA as saying.

Ever since Kangana’s explosive revelations in Aap Ki Adalat, Bollywood has been buzzing with reactions. Singer Sona Mohapatra was among the first to slam the actor for what she thought to be a “circus”.

Writing an open letter, Sona wrote how Bollywood star was guilty of “doing a disservice to feminism” by “washing her dirty linen” in public and reviving her fight with Hrithik Roshan.

In her letter, she wrote: “Your success doesn’t need this tabloid trail. Your well thought out & superbly worded open letters of the past, fearless interviews addressing larger issues, taking a stand, taking legal recourse are welcome. The current ‘circus’, not.”

Farah Khan too targeted Kangana without naming her. Speaking at the launch of her upcoming TV show, Farah told Navbharat Times, “I won’t name anybody and I don’t want to be involved in this but every time you (Kangana) are playing the woman card. I believe feminism is about equality. I always look at these things with a different perspective -- swap the woman and the man for their places and then try to understand the issue.”
