You will need: a printer and paper, scissors, a fabric-covered Alice band and your choice of fabrics - meshes, paper, scraps of fabric, whatever you like. (If you don’t want your cut fabric shapes to fray, buy some Fray Check from any haberdashery shop and apply to the cut edge to stop them fraying.) We used a paper fabric during the show, but you can use anything: plastics, meshes, paper, FedEx envelopes ...Photograph: Katherine Rose
Use a fabric-covered Alice band (buy one from any pound shop) as a ruff base for your cutout shapes. These make perfect necklace shapes. If you can't find a fabric-covered one, wrap the band in ribbon - if you use ribbon, you can leave a long piece hanging downPhotograph: Katherine RoseLayer up your camo shapes into bunches Photograph: Katherine RosePut some stitches through the middle of the bunches to hold them in place Photograph: Katherine RoseAdd buttons and anything else you like Photograph: Katherine RosePin or tie the camo cut shapes to the Alice band ...Photograph: Katherine Rose... then hand-sew them onPhotograph: Katherine RoseAttach any leftover pieces to the end of the ribbonPhotograph: Katherine RoseWalk tall and wear your ruff with pride!Photograph: PR
