The dresses cost thousands and you can’t buy the attitude – the most accessible takeaway from the couture shows is the beauty. At Dior, Peter Philips created a velvety red lip, matte like an old photo, but bright and bold, and rich as the front-row customers. Glorious to see and fun to wear. There is some delight, too, in leaving those red matte smears around the place. Teacups. Tissues. Cheeks.
