Make up artist shares 'genius' bronzer hack so you don't look orange

As the sun starts to peek through clouds, the weather warms up and British summer creeps towards us, it can be tempting to bronze up your makeup for a sun kissed glow.

However, finding a bronzer that doesn't leave behind an orange tinge can feel almost impossible, especially when your skin is at its palest from the long winter months.

Rather than spending more money on a new product that could end up doing the same thing, there's a simple makeup hack you can use to banish orange cheeks for good - and you likely already own it.

Makeup artist Rose Siard is known for sharing her top tips on her TikTok to her 1.3 million followers, including this odd little hack for orange bronzers.

Bronzer is designed to make your skin look more tanned, as if you've just got back from a two week long beach holiday in Tenerife, so the pigment leans orange and red - this differs from contour which is grey toned to chisel features and create shadows.

"Have you ever put on a bronzer only for it to betray you and turn orange?" said Rose, before revealing what is "missing" is actually the colour "red".

She then puts a small amount of bright red blush on her brush and pats this over her bronzer, magically eliminating the orange tones and leaving a warm glow to her cheek. Rose explains you can use cream or powder, as long as it's a true tone red.

The magic here is thanks to colour theory, as red neutralises orange tones without taking away all the warmth from your skin - by the same logic, if your bronzer is too red you can neutralise it with an orange blush instead.

For anyone panicking that they do not have a bright red blush, a red lipstick or eyeshadow will do the same thing, just don't go overboard with the pigment.

"I reach for bronzers with red anyway since that's what the sun does to me naturally," Rose captioned the video and her comments were filled with fans calling the hack "genius".

Fellow beauty guru Glamzilla said: "You have the best tips! We love a save the day moment."

"Omg genius, this is what I need. My skin is way too pink and cool toned for most bronzers," added a fan.

Another said: "I didn't know this, I would just throw them away. Now I know what to do!"
