Make-up artist says you're using foundation wrong and begs people to try 'dab dab' trick

While make-up trends come and go, there is one thing that's always key to an on-point look - a flawless base.

But it turns out many of us are making a crucial error when putting our foundation on, which could be ruining the whole look.

Thankfully, make-up artist Kate O'Neal Talbert, who aims to "simplify the beauty world", is here to save the day with a video detailing how to get the most 'skin-like' base.

She explains that too many of are rubbing our foundation in with a downwards motion when using a beauty blender or foundation brush.

She claims this is "just pushing product off of your skin" so you should avoid rubbing your make-up in on your face.

Instead, she shows TikTokers a 'game-changing' way to apply foundation.

First, she begins by dotting a small amount of foundation onto the face with her finger.

She then says not to drag or swipe the product, but urges people to press the product into their skin.

Kate then pauses to say: "Look how much better that coverage looks."

She promises better coverage, better longevity and a more skin-like finish, which is definitely the trend for summer 2022.

She said: "If you're dealing with things like texture, and pores, a lot of it has to do with how you're applying the makeup.

"Around the nose we have a lot of visible pores and texture and if you're swiping and rubbing you're just emphasising - you want to press it in."

Kate finished the video by saying: "I'm begging you, stop swiping, stop dragging, stop rubbing.

"Practice pressing the product into your skin and you'll be amazed at the difference."

People were shocked in the comments, with one user writing: " I had no idea. Thank you!"

"Thank you! Super helpful!", another wrote, with someone adding: "Dab, dab, dab!"
