Jarrod Bowen has sent Newcastle United fans into a social media frenzy following reports he is keen to secure a move to the club.
Bowen looked set to move to West Ham, but that deal has now stalled due to his wage demands.
The Hammers had agreed a deal with the Championship outfit that would see them fork out an initial £14m plus £8m in add-ons.
But a further twist then followed this afternoon when speculation began to increase stating that Bowen would prefer to make the shorter trip to Newcastle as opposed to moving down south to east London.
Although the Chronicle understands that United chiefs are sticking to their belief that the majority of their work in the January window is now done.
But that hasn’t stopped Newcastle reacting to the news on Twitter, and below is the best of the reaction.
Crystal Palace are the only other club to have submitted a firm proposal for Bowen’s services, but the wideman wasn't keen on heading to Selhurst Park.
Clubs have until 11pm tonight to complete any business before the window shuts.
