More than half of young people believe the education system in the UK benefits the rich more than the poor, new polling has found.
An exclusive Survation poll of young people for the Daily Mirror found an overwhelming majority did not think Boris Johnson's government understands their lives.
The poll reveals the scale of youngsters' anger at the A-levels fiasco, which saw 40% of marks downgraded by a computer system - particularly children from poorer backgrounds.
Of 1043 16-to-18-year-olds quizzed online on Monday and Tuesday, some 55% said the education system in the UK benefits the better-off more than the less well-off.
And just 14% believed the Government understands the lives of young people.
The poll also revealed more than a third of youngsters believe private schools should be abolished.
Some 37% were in favour of scrapping fee-paying schools, with 45% opposed and 18% saying they did not know.
Yesterday the Mirror revealed 48% of respondents in the same poll blamed the Government for the A-level debacle - with 44% saying they would be less likely to vote Tory in view of the crisis.
Confronted with the poll by LBC Presenter Nick Ferrari, Schools Minister Nick Gibb said: "These are difficult decisions we've had to take, all along.
“It's not ideal to award grades without taking the exam. But that is the decision we had to take."
Separate polling by YouGov found support for the Conservative Party had dropped four points to 40% overall - the lowest level since Boris Johnson became Prime Minister.
In the same poll, Labour rose by three points to 38%.
