Majorca is a favourite family holiday destination with many locations gearing up to welcome all generations of tourists - despite the wild party reputation of resorts like Magaluf.
Island capital Palma de Mallorca is eyeing the return of UK visitors in the coming months and tourism chiefs have launched a new family travel guide to support holidaymakers planning a post-lockdown escape.
The guide is packed with fun activities to do all-year round and recommendations of the best child-friendly hotels in the capital and neighbouring Playa de Palma.
It also hopes to capitalise on its easy-to-reach destination from the UK with flights taking around two hours from most airports.
Pedro Homar, manager of Palma Tourist Board, said: “Palma and Mallorca has always been a firm favourite for British families.
"To make the most of your holiday and that much needed quality time with loved ones post-lockdown, we have launched our family travel guide which outlines all the fantastic things we have in the city for families to enjoy together.
"The guide has been specifically designed to showcase how Palma’s tourism proposition appeals to all ages, providing endless fun, culture, great weather and a wide range of activities to enjoy together.”
Palma, with its nearby beaches, family-friendly accommodation, mild climate and short flight time from the UK, is a perfect destination for a family getaway.
Beyond the beaches, Palma has a wide range of restaurants, large open ‘plazas’ where kids can play whilst the old town is full of history, culture and interesting stories to discover by foot or by bike.
Palma is also a great base for exploring the rest of the island and some of the most popular day trips are featured in the guide, from family-friendly hiking in the Tramuntana mountains to a short boat ride to the island of Cabrera, declared a nature and bird reserve.
