Major worry as Dublin pupil allegedly jumped by suspicious duo near kid's school

North Dublin locals have been left extremely worried after a school kid was allegedly jumped by a pair of suspicious youngsters as he made his daily morning journey to school.

The young boy, who is understood to be 16-years-old, was allegedly attacked by two other teenagers on bikes near the school.

It is not believed that the alleged attackers are pupils of the same school and were unknown to the young victim.

The teen is understood to be shocked after the apparent assault but was not injured and the pair did not manage to steal anything from the school boy.

It is understood that the pupil ran into a nearby garden but was followed by the duo during the early morning incident.

The boy told the homeowner what had happened and the man is said to have warned off the pair before contacting the Gardai.

A relation of the boy said they would like to find the brave person who helped "save him from a beating".

They said: "It happened near the school in the morning, the two lads were on a bike and just hopped off to attack him.

"He's never seen them before, they just had their normal clothes on and not school uniforms."

They added: "It could have ended much worse. He went running into a man's garden and I would like to thank that man.

"He warned off the two lads and then contacted Gardai. Fair play to him, he stopped him from getting a beating.

"I would like to find that man and thank him, who ever he is."

Dublin Live understands that Gardai are investigating the incident.
