Rangers-linked Davide Ancelotti will not be teaming up with dad Carlo at Brazil, Ancelotti Sr has revealed.
Taking his first press conference as the new Brazilian national team boss this evening, the 65 also addressed his son's future.
Davide is a strong contender for the Ibrox hotseat and it's understood he is keen to take on the challenge of succeeding Philippe Clement as the next permanent manager of the club.
The 35-year-old has been working with his dad at Real Madrid - and Bayern Munich, Everton and Napoli before that - and there have been conflicting reports around what would happen yet.
He feels ready to go it alone but some suggested he could still head to Brazil to help his father with his first two matches in charge.
However, Carlo has now revealed that won't be the case, also confirming his son is in talks with a club in Europe.
He said: "Davide is currently in negotiations with a European team, and it didn't seem right to bring him in.
"If he goes to a club, I wish him the best, and if not, he can come back to us."
