A South American journalist has given a major update on the future of Celtic loanee Marcelo Saracchi, amid calls for the Uruguayan to be offered a permanent deal.
The 28-year-old, despite being mostly used as a back-up to Kieran Tierney at left-back, has become a fan favourite at Parkhead, thanks to his energy and passion, both on and off the pitch.

Despite growing calls for the Boca Juniors defender to be signed, following the end of his loan spell, Argentinian journalist and Celtic fan Seba Ongarelli has given a somewhat negative update on the situation.
On X, the Scottish-based Ongarelli posted, "Spoke with Saracchi’s agent. He flew to Argentina yesterday, and he’ll join Boca Jrs back (season’s over now)
"Although he really enjoyed his short time at Celtic and loves the fans, the club never offered him a permanent transfer deal.

At present, Celtic only has one recognised senior left-back, that of Kieran Tierney, who enjoyed an efficient first season back at his boyhood club.
Last season, Saracchi made 27 appearances for Celtic in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting two.
