Major TV decision made for Rangers vs Panathinaikos Champions League tie

The first leg of Rangers' upcoming Champions League tie with Panathinaikos will be shown live on Premier Sports. 

The game was previously at risk of a TV blackout, with no broadcaster picking it up.

That was until today, when Premier announced that they would be showing it live on their Premier Sports 1 channel. 

The tie with the Greeks is the first of three that the Ibrox club must negotiate if they are to make it to the lucrative league phase of European football's premier club competition.

Panathinaikos finished second in the Greek top flight last term, 16 points behind eventual champions Olympiacos. 

The clash will be Russell Martin's maiden competitive outing as [[Rangers]] head coach. He will be looking to get off to a flying start in a crucial tie. 

Martin named his 25-man squad for the first leg today...

Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Liam Kelly, Kieran Wright.

Defenders: Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga, Emmanuel Fernandez, Leon King, John Souttar, James Tavernier, Jefte.

Midfielders: Thelo Aasgaard, Nedim Bajrami, Connor Barron, Lyall Cameron, Oscar Cortes, Mohamed Diomande, Kieran Dowell, Robbie Fraser, Djiedi Gassama, Nico Raskin, Joe Rothwell.

Forwards: Cyriel Dessers, Josh Gentles, Hamza Igamane, Danilo.
