There are major tailbacks on the M876 and M9 this Thursday evening due to a police incident.
The incident is between M876 (Checkbar) AND J2 (N Broomage).
This busy section of the M876 has been closed in both directions and drivers are being advised to stay away from the area.
As a result of the road traffic accident, there has also been a knock-on effect on traffic in surrounding areas, with the M9 currently being described as "chaos".
Forth One is reporting how M9 traffic is tailing back all the way to J7 Kinnaird House because of the incident.
An eyewitness said: "I was directed onto the motorway at Larbert (A9 junction) and now stuck!"
Traffic Scotland wrote on social media: "UPDATE 17:55 #M876 RTC #M876 J1-J2 all lanes CLOSED in both directions The #M9 W/B J8 off slip is CLOSED Traffic is slow in the area, expect delays."

Update (18:50) A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 5.05pm on Thursday, 27 May, 2021, we received a report of a concern for person on the M876 westbound at junction 2.
"Emergency services are in attendance and the road has been closed in both directions between M8 junction 8 and M9 junction 8.”
