A major search operation was underway last night for an elderly woman seen standing in her nightgown at the side of a road.
Police were alerted to reports of a woman standing at the side of the A710 near to Sandyhills, Dalbeattie, at 11pm on Sunday night.
A multi-agency search including a search and rescue helicopter failed to find any trace of the woman.
She has now come forward to identify herself after learning of the search.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have no further concerns."
