John Carr disappeared from his home in Blackburn on Saturday (Police Scotland)

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a dark grey top, blue v-neck jumper with cream edges, a black jacket and black/dark blue shoes.

He has a limp and walks with the aid of a stick.

Inspector Craig Pirie, Livingston Police Office , said: "John said he was heading out to get the bus to Bathgate for shopping but for whatever reason he has not come back.

"He's not been missing before and so to not return home and be be out of touch with family is unusual and concerning for family and police.

"We have been searching the area and checking CCTV as well as liaising with bus and taxi companies.

"So far there has been one unconfirmed sighting of John late last night at the bus stance at the shopping centre in Livingston, however, nothing since then.

"We would ask people to keep an eye out for him and if he's seen, or if you know where he may be, then contact officers at Livingston Police Station via 101. Please quote reference number 3252 of 7 March 2020 when calling."
