Body found in major search for missing jogger, 52, who vanished in freezing weather

A body has been found this morning during a major search for a missing jogger who vanished while out running in freezing weather.

Officers said that David Hill, from Lydd, Kent, has not been seen since yesterday afternoon.

Police said the family of the missing runner had been informed.

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

The 52-year-old was last known to have been in the Dennes Lane area at around 2.10pm, and had previously completed runs across country towards Old Romney.

He was described as being six feet tall, of stocky build, with receding grey hair and was last seen wearing a red Adidas coat and black Adidas tracksuit bottoms.

Temperatures have been bitterly cold over the last few days and dropped to around freezing in Kent overnight.

Anyone with information that could assist is asked to call Kent Police on 101.
