Major search for missing boy, 16, as police helicopter called and volunteers scour village

A major search is underway for a missing 16-year-old boy with 50 volunteers joining police to find the teenager.

Lucas Webb, from Canterbury, was last seen in Barham, Kent, at about 1.30pm on Saturday, December 12.

Officers are now appealing for information to locate him and a police helicopter has been heard over Barham village.

He is described as being of medium build, with blonde short hair, Kent Police said.

Lucas was last seen wearing a light grey hooded top, dark trousers, brown boots and lime green coloured gloves.

He also had a lime green coloured bike and a large backpack with him.

Police are now asking the public to provide any information they may have while their search is ongoing.

According to reports, about 50 volunteers have joined officers in searching for the missing teenager.

Kent Police said in a statement: "Officers are appealing for the public’s help in trying to locate a missing teenager from Canterbury.

"Lucas Webb, 16 was last seen in Barham in Canterbury at about 1.30pm on Saturday 12 December.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 101 quoting reference 12-0947."
