Major ScotRail disruption due to more flooding on line at Winchburgh tunnel

ScotRail passengers are facing a miserable Monday morning with a raft of Edinburgh services disrupted by yet more flooding at Winchburgh tunnel.

The rail operator announced this morning that trains would be running through the affected area at a reduced speed of 5mph.

Engineers are said to be monitoring the situation and it's hoped that things should improve in the coming hours.

ScotRail say that services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High are delayed or revised along with train journeys between Edinburgh and Glasgow via Cumbernauld.

Journeys via Falkirk Grahamston may be terminated there and services between Edinburgh and Milngavie via Airdrie will be terminated at Bathgate.

Services between Edinburgh and Dunblane are also affected.

Ticket acceptance is currently in place for Edinburgh Trams services at Edinburgh Park, Haymarket and Waverley.

Visit the ScotRail website to see how your journey is affected.

Edinburgh Live reported on Thursday how shocking videos showed the extent of the flooding at Winchburgh tunnel following thunderstorms and heavy showers.
