Major RTX 50 SUPER GPU leak points to October launch — and it confirms key VRAM upgrades

RTX 5070 vs RTX 5070 Ti.

The wait for Nvidia's rumored RTX 50 SUPER GPUs may not be as long as we first thought. A new leak just revealed major details on the upgraded graphics cards — with expected pricing included.

According to reputable leaker Moore's Law is Dead (via TweakTown), RTX 5080 SUPER, 5070 Ti SUPER and 5070 SUPER GPUs are set to launch in Q4 2025. More importantly, the leak confirms video memory and performance upgrades, with up to 24GB GDDR7 VRAM on the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti SUPERs and 18GB GDDR7 on the RTX 5070 SUPER.

These are the VRAM gains many have been expecting, which line up with a previous rumor from reliable tipster Kopite7kimi. This includes the upgrade in TGP, too, with MLID stating to expect a 9-16% performance uplift with the RTX 5080 SUPER, around 7-11% with the 5070 TI SUPER and somewhere between 8-12% in the 5070 SUPER.

Interestingly, the leak suggests Nvidia is planning to discontinue the base RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti this October in favor of the SUPER variant. If this is the case, it's likely we'll see upgraded GPU models this October.

This may be due to Nvidia looking to now offer more VRAM in its higher-end GPUs, just as PC users have been wanting. As we've seen, the base models have been set at premium prices with lower-than-expected video memory. Fortunately, the leaker claims pricing may stay the same.

As per MLID's leak, the RTX 5080 SUPER may be priced at the same $999 cost as the regular RTX 5080, and the same goes for the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER at $749 and RTX 5070 SUPER at $549. That said, the upgraded 5080 may be $200 higher, while the other two may only differ by around $50.

Nvidia has yet to officially reveal any RTX 50 SUPER models, so take this all with a pinch of salt. But it's yet another sign that Team Green's next GPUs are coming, and we may only have to wait until next month o check them out — and wave goodbye to the base RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti (which may see bigger discounts with the SUPERs arriving).

While the leak suggests an October launch at the earliest, the RTX 5080 SUPER may not be released until early 2026 instead.

As per MLID, the RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 SUPER models should arrive this year, but the 5080 SUPER may wait until Q1 2026 (between January and March) for a bigger boost in memory speeds. If it does arrive in 2026, it may come with up to 36Gbps speeds compared to the 32Gbps it's expected to have for its rumored launch.

This would fall more in line with the release dates of Nvidia's previous SUPER GPUs, which usually launch around 12 months after their base counterparts. However, if these SUPER graphics cards end up coming out in the next month or so, this would be an incredibly fast turnaround for Nvidia.

We won't know for sure until these cards are officially announced. In the meantime, check out our thoughts on Nvidia's other GPUs, including the RTX 5060 Ti.
