Major route into Nottingham closed for emergency repairs until the end of the week

A major road into Nottingham will be closed until the end of the week for emergency repairs.

From today (Wednesday April 7 2021), the Lenton Boulevard junction of Derby Road, Nottingham, will be closed.

A Nottingham City Council bulletin said the emergency electrical works would start today "with immediate effect" and "moderate delays" will be expected for drivers in the area.

The works, carried out by Western Power Distribution, will end on Sunday, April 11 at 5pm.

Alternative routes will be signposted at the scene of the closure. Traffic will be monitored via the Traffic Control Centre.

It comes after emergency electrical works also had to be carried out this week in Colwick.

Large sections of Vale Road, a busy route connecting Netherfield and Colwick, were dug up as well as pavements and verges so work could get under way at the site.

The works, at the junction with Balmoral Road, began on Wednesday, March 31 and there was no access through Vale Road. The work is expected to be completed today, April 7.
