Major road closed as cops race to four-vehicle smash in Highlands

Emergency services have raced to a major road in the Highlands following a four-vehicle collision.

Police and fire crews raced to the scene on the A836 shortly before 3pm today, August 6.

The smash involves four vehicles and has taken place between Reay and Thurso.

Police have shut the major road down and are in attendance, along with three fire engines and a heavy rescue unit.

It's not yet known if anyone has been injured.

A Police Scotland spokesperson saidl: "Police were called around 2.55pm on Friday, 6 August, 2021 following the report of a four vehicle road crash on the A836 between Reay and Thurso.

"Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed. No details of injuries at this time."
