A major road was closed this morning after emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash.
Police and paramedics were called to Wavertree Road, at the junction of Overton Street, after reports of two cars colliding at about 9.05am
The force said a Nissan Qashqai and a BMW were involved.
Photos from the scene showed a heavy emergency presence as officers were spotted filming the aftermath of the crash.
One of the officers investigating was also seen filming one of the vehicles, which was badly damaged.

Police said there were no reported injuries, but the road remained closed until 10.40am.
A spokesman for the police said: "[It was a] damage only collision involving Nissan Qashqai and BMW reported 9.05am at junction of Wavertree Road and Overton Street.
