Emergency services attended the scene of a "serious crash" which saw a car flip on to its roof.
The crash between a Jaguar and a Ford Kuga took place on Deysbrook Lane, West Derby at around 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 22.
The road was closed in both directions following the smash but no-one was seriously hurt.
The drivers were checked over by ambulance and didn't require any hospital treatment.
A Merseyside police spokesperson said on Wednesday morning: "We were called at 5.30pm yesterday to a two car collision involving a Jaguar and a Ford Kuga. "Only minor injuries to the occupants of the cars. They were checked over by ambulance but didn’t require hospital treatment. The road reopened at 7.05pm."
At the time of the crash Merseytravel said that due to the "serious" road traffic incident the Arriva 12 and 13 services were delayed and diverted.
Elsewhere in Merseyside, police confirmed there was a crash near the Red Fox pub, on Neston Road, Thornton Hough.
Three cars were involved just before 10pm and one person was taken to Arrowe Park hospital to be checked over.
