Major rescue after four people stranded in Bristol Harbour

Four people have been rescued from a pontoon on Bristol Harbour this evening (June 1).

Police, firefighters and paramedics raced to the scene after reports of a person in the water by Baldwin Street.

Fire crews from Temple, Bedminster and Bath attended the rescue at 7.42pm.

Photos taken on the scene show a crowd gathered at the harbourside as the emergency services responded to the incident.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that four people were rescued from a pontoon on the water.

The fire service worked with the Harbour Master and Avon and Somerset Police to rescue the group.

Bedminster fire crew used their rescue boat to retrieve the four.
