Major protest planned at Tottenham as fans blame board for relegation struggle

  • Tottenham Hotspur fans , organised by the group Change for Tottenham, are planning a significant protest following their final Premier League match against Everton on Sunday, irrespective of the result.
  • The demonstration is a response to a season of profound dissatisfaction, with the club facing potential relegation for the first time in 49 years, currently sitting 17th in the league, just two points above the drop zone.
  • Supporters are encouraged to back the team during the match but will then hold the club's hierarchy accountable for a calamitous campaign that has included three head coaches and multiple unwanted records, such as a 15-match winless streak.
  • The fan group primarily attributes the club's struggles to chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, director of football Johan Lange, and the owners, ENIC, run by the Lewis family, criticising managerial appointments and a lack of January transfer activity.
  • Despite the positive impact of interim head coach Roberto De Zerbi, the group's statement condemned past management decisions, including the delayed sacking of Thomas Frank and the appointment of Igor Tudor, vowing to make their voices heard to prevent a repeat of this season's failures.
