Hundreds of homes and businesses were left without electricity in Gateshead .
An unexpected power cut impacted more than 4013 premises.
Premises in NE8, NE16 and NE21 were affected - that includes parts of Bensham, Whickham and Blaydon.
According to the live incident tracker, electricity supplies were expected to be back to normal by 1.45pm.
The power was restored to properties in Gateshead just after 2pm.
A statement on Northern Powergrid's website reads: "We have been working hard to restore your power.
"The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the "cables or equipment that serve your area.
"We restored power to properties at around 2pm."
