Scotland's police watchdog has been ordered to carry out an investigation into the death of a man at a property in East Kilbride on Friday.
Emergency services raced to a home on Alison Lea around 4.15pm and a 59-year-old man later died after being "seriously injured".
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner, which is the police watchdog, has now been told to carry out an investigation into the incident by the crown office.
Exact details surrounding the circumstances of the man's death are not yet known but the PIRC only investigate deaths when they occur in police custody or after someone has been in contact with the police.

Cops released a statement saying: "Around 4.15pm, officers attended at a property in East Kilbride.
"A 59-year-old man was seriously injured and has since died.”
A spokesperson for the force then confirmed that the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC)would be carrying out an investigation.
A police spokesperson said: "The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has also instructed the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner to carry out an investigation."
A spokesperson for the PIRC’s Investigation Team said: “We have been directed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to investigate the circumstances of the death of a 59-year-old man following an incident involving police in East Kilbride on 11 June 2021.”

Forensic officers continued investigative work today and could be seen coming and going from the property with evidence bags.
The street was cordoned off by officers and a large emergency presence remained in the area following the incident on Friday.
Local residents in the street also reported seeing a female in her forties being escorted to a police car from the property after the incident.
