Major Nottingham road partially closes until next week as electricity works take place

Drivers in Nottingham have been urged to expect moderate delays after a major city road was partially closed in one direction.

The southbound stretch of Lenton Boulevard will be closed until 6am on Monday, April 19, while Western Power Distribution conducts work in the area.

The works, which came into effect on Wednesday morning (April 14), will see the closure of the southbound stretch of the road between Ashburnham Avenue and its junction with Derby Road.

It means traffic can only travel northbound on this stretch of the road, with a signed diversion route in place in the area.

Nottingham City Council has not outlined the route for the diversion.

As part of the same works, Derby Road will also have a lane closure in its easterly direction, which is also likely to bring "moderate" traffic delays.

The inbound lane will be closed between Lenton Boulevard and Cottesmore Road, to accommodate temporary traffic signals.

The work on this stretch of Derby Road is also not set to be lifted until 6am on Monday, April 19.
