Major Nottingham road cordoned off as man left seriously injured in attack

A man has been taken to hospital - and left seriously injured - following an attack in Nottingham. The man was assaulted in Radford Boulevard, between Radford and Lenton, at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (August 10).

Detectives remain at the scene on Wednesday evening and Radford Boulevard has been cordoned off by Nottinghamshire Police. The cordon is in place near the old Gregory pub, off Ilkeston Road.

Police have asked witnesses to come forward. Detective Superintendent Justine Wilson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have a number of officers in the process of carrying out further enquiries. The man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and it has been necessary for us to place a police cordon at the scene.

"Whilst enquiries are ongoing into this incident, we would ask anyone who has any information about what happened, or has any CCTV or dash cam footage from the area at the time of this incident, to get in touch immediately.” Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 481 of August 10. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, the emergency services are also tackling a house fire nearby. The incident in Alfreton Road was reported at 6.40pm, with the road cordoned off an buses diverting.
