Major new retail park to bring big brands to Scottish town

PLANS for a new retail park expected to bring major brands to an Aberdeenshire town are moving forward.

Hardies Property & Construction Consultants has been appointed lead consultant on the construction of a new retail park on the outskirts of Banchory.

It is expected to bring some big brands including Lidl, Home Bargains, Starbucks and an M&S Food store.

It follows Aberdeenshire Council granting planning permission to Banchory Estates to build three retail units and a drive-through café on land behind the town’s Tesco store.

Work is expected to begin this summer.

Martin McConnell, managing partner of Hardies, said: “As lead consultant on this exciting project we will undertake a range of project management duties, including full quantity surveying, principal designer and energy services.”

Hardies noted it would also work alongside architect IDA, structural engineer Goodsons, and mechanical and engineering company Horizon.
