Major morning crash forces busy Dublin road to close

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash on the M1/M50 interchange near the Port Tunnel this morning.

One person was treated on the scene before being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

The slip road was closed temporarily while emergency services conducted rescue and recovery operations but it has since reopened.

Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene along with gardai.

Gardai said the crash was between a HGV and a car and happened just before 9:14am.

Dublin Fire Brigade said on Twitter: "This morning, Firefighter/Paramedics were called to a collision on the M1/M50 interchange.

"One person was treated on scene and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The slip road was closed for rescue and recovery operations but is now fully open."
