Major Kilmarnock road shut down as emergency services race to incident

A major Kilmarnock road has been shut down this evening following an incident.

Multiple fire crews, an ambulance and police have all raced to Western Road following what's believed to have been a road traffic collision.

The emergency services are all tending to the incident outside North West Area Centre.

It's understood traffic is being diverted through Longpark while authorities have shut down the busy road.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 4.20 pm on Monday, November 1, police were called to a two vehicle road crash on Western Road, Kilmarnock. Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
