Motorists face six weeks of roadworks disruption in Kilmarnock when a major project kicks off later this month.
The town's busy Glasgow Road will be the focus for resurfacing work between Sunday, June 20 and Sunday, July 18.
Overnight closures will be introduced each Sunday to Thursday, from 7pm to 6am, when works are ongoing with diversions put in place.
And the summer scheme looks set to have an impact on bus services and people making the most of the longer evenings with the school holidays also scheduled.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance have confirmed that the resurfacing works will be broken down into three phases.
Phase one will see works taking place from the Southcraigs roundabout to the A77 slip roads where, alongside resurfacing, refuge islands will be installed.
Meanwhile, phase two begins on Sunday, July 4 and will focus on the section between the Western Road roundabout and Southcraigs roundabout.
Finally, phase three is due to start on Sunday, July 18 at the Western Road roundabout.
Drivers will be redirected during each phase while pedestrian access and access for emergency services vehicles will be maintained by marshals.
A spokesperson for Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA) said in a statement: "It is hoped that the resurfacing work will be completed within the timescales stipulated.
"However, the work is weather dependent and any unforeseen difficulties could result in a delay."
