Major injury worry as Allan Saint-Maximin leaves ground on crutches and admits 'It's a bad one'

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin left the ground on crutches after pulling up with a hamstring at the end of the win over Southampton.

The Frenchman had been nursing an ankle injury going into the game but was patched up and sent back into battle.

But he admitted on his way out of the ground that things weren’t looking good going into the Burnley game.

When asked about his fitness status, he told reporters: “It’s a bad one.”

, Bruce said: “That’s what happens when you play with fatigue.

“ Allan has never had that before - in France, it’s half the intensity of here.

“Looking at him yesterday, he was the big one, and could he recover? I know it’s 95th minute but, obviously, he didn’t

“I nearly left him out today - and, now, I wish I had done because he could be out for weeks.

“I’m disappointed with myself.”
