A major incident has been declared on the Isle of Man amid extreme flooding.
The Isle of Man police constabulary says that people are trapped inside at least three homes in the village of Laxey, which has seen floodwater rushing down its roads.
Residents have been told to stay inside and upstairs while emergency services attend to the floods.
Water rescue teams, fire crews, coastguards and an emergency helicopter have been brought in to help with the rescue mission.
Shortly after 9am this morning, Isle of Man police tweeted: "We are dealing with a major incident in Laxey in relation to the severe flooding and persons trapped in houses. All 999 services are in attendance.
"If you are safe in your house please stay in. If you need to please go upstairs and monitor media."
Several vehicles have also "washed away" according to police on the island and power supplies have been disrupted.

Police say they have had to close a number of roads due to flooding and landslides and are urging people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
At least two schools have also had to close.
Laxey, the fourth largest village on the island, is on the east coast of the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man has a population of around 83,000.
