Glasgow's Great Western Road locked down after crash as pram abandoned at the scene

A major road in Glasgow has been locked down by police after a crash.

Emergency services raced to reports of a road smash on Great Western Road in the West End of the city at around 8.10am on Thursday January 27.

Pictures from the scene show a child's pram lying in the middle of the road with officers standing nearby.

In another image a white car can be seen lying in a grassy area between the two sides of the street.

Cops have taped off the road between Knightscliffe Avenue and Anniesland Cross.

The nature of the crash is not yet known and police have not confirmed if anyone involved has been injured.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "At around 8.10am this morning, Thursday, 27 January, emergency services were called to a road crash on Great Western Road, Glasgow.

"Emergency services are at the scene and the road is currently closed."
