A serious fire is causing major tailbacks on the A77 this evening.
A vehicle has burst into flames heading southbound near the Bellfield Interchange heading towards Ayr from Kilmarnock.
Emergency services are on the scene and dealing with the incident.
An eyewitness who was at the scene said: "It looks pretty bad, a car is on fire and smoke is everywhere.
"Traffic is queued up all the way behind it and there's emergency services at the car."
A post on social media said: "A77 before Bellfield Interchange southbound, car on fire.
"Fire brigade just arriving on scene, massive tailback."
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment and we will update you when we can.
