Major fire in Fife sees emergency services race to scene

Emergency services have raced to the scene of a major fire which broke out at a village in Fife.

Police were called to assist fire crews at an address at Croftouterly, Leslie, Glenrothes around 4.40pm on Wednesday February 26.

Images on social media show thick black smoke billowing out over the skyline.

Fire crews confirmed had been called to the blaze, but further details are not available at this time.

Video from the village showed a number of appliances racing to the scene of the blaze.

Members of a local Facebook group believe the fire could be centred on a garage with roads around it being closed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 4.45pm on Wednesday, 26 February, 2020, to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service following a fire at an address at Croftouterly, Leslie, Glenrothes.

"No further information at this time."
