Major Emmerdale twist in the battle for The Woolpack's future after tragic Christmas fire

There’s another sorry twist in the saga regarding the future of Emmerdale pub The Woolpack.

As Emmerdale fans know, the venue suffered financial difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic.

This led to investment from Al Chapman, played by Michael Wildman, although the money didn’t come without consequences.

It soon became clear Al wasn’t interested in making a success of the pub but instead he had other plans with the businessman intent on seeing the business suffer.

At Christmas, Al was behind a fire at the pub aimed to further propel his scheme to see cousins Chas and Marlon Dingle completely sell up.

Al has been working with his money man Gavin to convert the Woolie into luxury apartments. Gavin was set to pay off the Dingles until he receives a threatening visit from Cain Dingles - in scenes set to air soon.

Inside Soap has reported on what we can expect in the coming weeks.

“The deal was the pair’s very last hope of clawing back something back after losing so much thanks to Al,” an Emmerdale insider said.

“He has destroyed their business, blown up their home and tried to wreck their lives in the name of profit.”

It looks like it is going to be yet another challenging time for the Dingle clan.

As ever, we’ll keep you posted on what the future holds for Emmerdale pub the Woolpack.
