Major Edinburgh roadworks at busy junction delayed after key staff get Covid

Major Edinburgh roadworks have been delayed after the key staff carrying out the repairs have tested positive for Covid and it is unclear when they will be rescheduled.

The roadworks that were scheduled for tonight on the M90 northbound approaching Junction 1A Queensferry have now been postponed.

The M90 northbound was supposed to be closed from M9 Junction 1A Kirkliston to M90 Junction 1A Queensferry, between 20:00 on 12 January until 05:00 on 13 January but will now be rescheduled.

The works were to repair gantry signs across the busy West Edinburgh road that brings traffic in and out of the capital and should be rescheduled soon.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Network Manager for South East Scotland, said: “It is essential to close the northbound M90 overnight to allow safe access for our operatives to repair sign panels on overhead gantries."
