Major Dublin road closed after man struck by car

A road has been sealed off after a man was rushed to hospital in a serious car crash on Sunday evening.

Diversions are currently in place as the Robinhood Road in Clondalkin has been closed to traffic.

The incident happened at 6.20pm on Sunday when a vehicle collided with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he remains in serious condition.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision at Robinhood Road in Clondalkin, Co.Dublin yesterday, Sunday, 23rd January 2022.

"The collision occurred at approximately 6.20pm when a vehicle collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

"The Robinhood Road is closed this morning with local diversions in places."
