Dublin Airport arrest as quick-thinking Gardai nab suspicious man in car

Gardai made a major arrest at Dublin Airport this week after spotting a man acting suspiciously in a car.

The driver was spotted by Santry officers after parking in a disabled spot outside Terminal 1 without a disabled disc on the vehicle.

But on further investigation, officers discovered that parking in a disabled bay was the least of the driver's worries.

It turned out that the man did not have a valid licence or insurance for the vehicle, which was seized by Gardai.

The motorist was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged and will appear before court at a later date.

A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin: "Santry Roads Policing Unit at Dublin Airport seized this car after observing the driver pull into a disabled bay with no discs.

"The driver admitted to having no insurance or valid licence."

She added: "Court proceedings are to follow for this driver."
