Major disruption on Glasgow rail lines due to broken down train

Glasgow rail passengers are facing disruption this morning due to a broken down train at Cumbernauld.

ScotRail has confirmed that a number of train services have been cancelled with several more delayed due to the incident.

All services between Motherwell and Cumbernauld have been cancelled, with no stations between the two stops being served.

Trains between Milngavie and Cumbernauld via Motherwell will also be terminated at and started back from Motherwell.

There are also alterations to services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk Grahamston, with trains to be diverted via Croy and all stations between Springburn and Camelon not being served.

ScotRail has predicted that the delays will continue until 9.30am today.

A number of replacement bus services are in place, with ticket acceptance in place.
